Our customizable outdoor stair systems offer the flexibility to combine multiple units for extended lengths, with the option to incorporate platforms either above or between stairways. Additionally, we provide innovative solutions such as lifting mechanisms for raising and lowering stair systems, perfect for private access in public areas.

A 20’ stairway weighs approximately 200 pounds, yet supports loads in excess of 1600 pounds. It can be carried and installed by two individuals. Stairways in excess of 100' have been fabricated where conditions allow support structures to be installed at 20' intervals.

DETERMINING STEP HEIGHT

 

In selecting the appropriate length for your stairway, there are essential factors to consider. The stairway is designed with a standard 45° approach angle, which means the vertical rise (B) will match the horizontal run (A), as shown in the diagram to your left. It's crucial to determine the starting height of the stairs and measure the intended run to predict where the stairs will conclude accurately. The base where the stairs end can vary – whether it's concrete, sand, grass, or wood, the key is ensuring it's stable. A soft or unstable base may pose issues. For installations ending on concrete, the stairway's base can be securely bolted to ensure stability and safety.

This information will allow you to decide if the standard 45° angle will work for your application. Custom approach angles are available from 35° to 55°. Please contact us for custom approach angles.

 

Adjustable leveling legs can be added to the lower end of the stairway to accommodate uneven landing surfaces. If the landing area is not level horizontally, these leveling legs can be independently adjusted for optimal stability. It's important to note that incorporating the leveling legs will raise the height of the first step due to the added height of the legs.

Adjustable leveling legs are not included and must be added in the drop-downs above.

MOUNTING HARDWARE & INSTALLATION

 

The installation process is simplified with the use of an attaching bracket. At the top of the stairway, two large pins fit securely into the bracket, creating the connection point for the unit. This bracket is designed to be securely mounted to a bulkhead or a similar structure using at least four bolts. For safety, ensure the bolts are placed on the bracket's tabs to avoid tripping hazards. Additionally, the bracket features tabs for attachment to both the top and side of the bulkhead, offering versatile mounting options.

The attaching bracket is included with the stairway.
