HOW TO DETERMINE THE NUMBER OF STEPS NEEDED
To select the dock stair that best fits your needs, follow these steps:
1. Measure the Height: Measure the vertical distance from the ground or lake bottom to the top of your dock or seawall.
2. Calculate the Number of Steps:
- Divide the total height (in inches) by 7 (the rise of each step).
- Subtract 1 from this figure to account for the final step onto the dock or seawall.
- Round down to the nearest whole number to determine the required number of steps.
3. Calculated Answer: You now have the number of steps needed for your stair.
Calculation example below;
If the distance from the top of your dock to the lake bottom is 50 inches:
- 50 inches divided by 7 equals approximately 7.14.
- Subtracting 1 gives you 6.14.
- Rounding down from 6.14 results in 6.
- Therefore, a stair model with 6 steps is appropriate for your installation.
OPTIONAL FEATURES
- Back Leg Kit: Additional support for freestanding installation
- Second Handrail: Increased safety for ascending and descending
