CanDock Elastic Anchor Rope Wave and Tidal Adaptability 3' (TMS)

This anchor rope, equipped with an elastic core, is designed to adapt to wave action and tidal variations. The addition of elastic cables to anchor lines enhances dock stability under all conditions. For areas with fluctuating water levels, whether tidal or seasonal, these cables help maintain optimal tension in the anchor lines at all water levels. A Candock representative will assess your specific application, environment, and forces acting on the dock to determine the most effective configuration.

 

Guidelines for TMS Cables

• Water Fluctuation Amplitudes - For water level changes greater than 6', use the 6' elastic cable. For fluctuations less than 6', the 3'elastic cable is recommended.
• TMS Position on Anchor Line - The TMS cable should always be positioned in the upper-mid section of the anchor line. This placement minimizes damage from seabed debris while ensuring easy adjustments at the dock’s upper section.
• TMS Installation and Tension Adjustment - Final adjustments to the TMS tension should be made at low water levels (low tide) to ensure optimal performance during water level changes. Precise tensioning can be challenging, so it’s important to monitor the first few fluctuation cycles for adjustments.
• Increased Resistance to Stretching - TMS cables can be paired or tripled on a single anchor line to increase resistance to stretching. The appropriate configuration depends on the load applied and the amplitude of water level fluctuations, as determined by a Candock representative.
• Single-Section Chain Configuration - he TMS cable must be installed on a single-section anchor line. The chain length between the two TMS connection points should match the maximum stretch of the cable: 3' TMS cable requires 6' chain length and a 6' TMS cable requires 12' chain length.
